The Turbosound Manchester Series MS218 is a passive dual 18" front-loaded subwoofer that's well suited for a broad range of speech and music sound reinforcement applications in both fixed, portable, and touring audio systems and designed in conjunction with Lake DSP and Lab Gruppen amplification to provide optimal FOH performance as well as flexibility to readily adapt to varying venue requirements. The subwoofer is suitable for ground stack deployment.
The subwoofer can handle up to 8000W of peak power to drive the dual 18" woofers, which combine for a frequency response of 95 down to 30 Hz with a remarkable 145 dB SPL. The enclosure has been designed for low distortion and a musical bass signature. The steep cut-off slopes ensure an effective acoustic transition for use with MV212 line array modules. For low-frequency extension, the recommended cabinet ratio consists of one MS218 to one MV212. For reverse cardioid subwoofer configurations, multiples of three MS218 enclosures are recommended with two front-firing enclosures and one rear-firing enclosure. Additionally, a front-mounted NL4 connector is available for rear-firing cardioid operation.
The 3/4" marine-grade Baltic birch enclosure is finished with a black polyurea coating and features a rugged powder coated steel mesh grille that's backed with reticulated foam. The rear panel offers two NL4 speakON connectors for input and link connections.
